Link Building in Finance and Investment Niche – 30+ Links for our Finance and Investment Client

We worked with a client in the citizenship by investment sector, building 30+ links in various finance and investment related websites.

Bluemina operates within the highly lucrative but competitive finance and investment sector, focusing particularly on services relevant to the Middle East. The challenge was not only to establish a presence but to kick-start their organic visibility and authority through strategic link building, amidst a period of significant website redevelopment.

What we have learnt by creating links in the Finance and Investment industry:

Our experience with Bluemina taught us the crucial role of timing and regional relevance in link-building campaigns. Despite initial delays due to technical upgrades from ASPX to WordPress, the rapid incorporation of link equity showed remarkable effectiveness once these issues were resolved, emphasizing the importance of strategic patience and targeted efforts.

How Bluemina captured significant market opportunities

Bluemina specializes in citizenship by investment, where the clientele is primarily HNWIs – and each lead/relationship can significantly impact revenue. Amidst their platform transition, they needed a robust strategy to not only maintain but enhance their market position.

Why the Client approached us:

Bluemina aimed to boost their organic search presence rapidly to match their service offerings’ scale and potential, especially focusing on the Middle East market. They did not want to engage with freelancers or services that were not familiar with the sector and run the risk of building poor quality links – and they wanted a link building company that could tailor a strategy considering the niche and the regional audience they were targeting.

The strategy we planned for the client:

Acknowledging the target region’s importance and the client’s high stakes, we focused on securing over 30 relevant links, primarily from niche-relevant financial and business platforms, with some being international, or MENA region specific. This included a significant brand mention and link on Zawya.com which was great from a digital PR point of view.

The number of things we did for building links for the client:

  • Executed a three-month intensive link-building campaign tailored to the finance and investment sector, but also reaching out to local websites, or regional news websites relevant to the places where they can secure citizenship.
  • We adapted strategy amidst significant website changes,  and restructuring ensuring that each effort complemented the ongoing technical enhancements.
  • Arguably the changes on the websites probably restricted growth but there was still a significant improvement.

Results

Organic search traffic: Spectacular increase from ~0 to 750 visits, marking an astonishing 74,900% growth in traffic.

SEO Impact: From having no keywords in the top 10 to securing 67 keywords ranking in the top 10, vastly improving their SEO footprint.

Note for full transparency: the company then refocused away from SEO after this point, and underwent further changes to the websites. Even without any further link building, and focusing on publishing content and on-page & technical SEO, the company’s organic search traffic continued to grow to over 3,000+ estimated visitors a month by 2023.

The marketing team had changed since then, so we’re unaware of exactly what happened, but the website was completely redesigned again, structure was changed and there was a significant traffic drop after 2023.

This illustrates that while link building can really help support overall efforts, its only one piece of the overall SEO puzzle.
